PROJECTS TO PROTECT THE OCEAN

Our projects are the result of connections and friendships with like-minded people all over the world. We don’t mince words, we just do it and it feels great. You can find a small excerpt from last year’s activities here:

MANGROVES IN THE PHILIPPINES

Alongside coral reefs and rainforests, mangrove forests are among the most productive ecosystems on earth. theBlueHeart supports specific projects and is committed to preserving and expanding this important basis of life.

END DYNAMITE FISHING

theBlueHeart also supports the NGO project of Lamave Philippines to end dynamite fishing and to make sustainable fishing methods attractive to the local population. By using scientifically sound tools, the knowledge and methods gained will be rolled out to other countries in the near future.

OUR YOUTH IS THE FUTURE

KEYNOTES IN SCHOOLS

I really enjoy talking to and with children and young people, working with them and creating space for new ideas for a sustainable approach to nature. To some extent, I’m still a child – maybe that’s why it’s so easy for me to talk to young people at eye level.

Telling the children about my adventures, my encounters with the animals, my love of the ocean and developing solutions together on how to protect the ocean; developing ideas in a direct exchange, getting started straight away and changing your own behavior individually instead of always making new plans – that’s a fulfilling task to me.

SWIMMING FOR SCIENCE

With Prof. Heinz Schelwat, the founder and managing director of Sea and Sun Technology, I’ve found a partner who enables me to collect data during my adventures. Sea and Sun Technology specializes in building probes for  the maritime sector. With the help of Prof. Schelwat and his team, I will be equipped with the latest technology and, like a research vessel, will be able to collect important data and help to sharpen our understanding and record the current state of the oceans.
